Churchill Controls Data Link 2000 telemetry Systems offer a very flexible approach to the problem of transferring signals between industrial plant and distributed sites, by utilising radio or private wires as a communication medium.

Applications can range from  a simple point to point simplex transfer of data to sophisticated schemes interfacing directly with Programmable Logic Controllers and SCADA systems.

The system can comprise from 2 Nano links with point to point monitoring up to 250 outstations using combinations of micro links and Nano links, each which can communicate with other outstations to act as repeaters or to provide data transmission over longer distances.

Nano Link

The simplest network comprises two Nano link modules transferring 4 digitals and 2 analogues in each direction (duplex).

The Nano link has been optimised for low power consumptions and low cost applications with limited I/O, to the extent it will operate for up to 2 years on low cost Duracell batteries. Which provides for a low cost installation and running costs

It is a general purpose outstation with 4 digital inputs and 2 analogue inputs, with the option of 4 digital outputs and 2 analogue outputs.

It is housed with a DIN standard enclosure suitable for standard din rail mounting. The units can be supplied prewired and fitted within a waterproof polycarbonate enclosure if required or to a custom enclosure together with any control interfacing equipment required.

The internal power supply can be supplied by either three alkaline batteries, a mains power supply 85-255Vac with battery backup or a DC voltage regulator.

The Nano link has been specifically designed to address the needs of District monitoring to detect leaks in water distribution networks.

District monitoring requires remote reading of totalised and/or instantaneous flow from one or two transducers, with the option of monitoring pressure at numerous points around the networks.

In urban areas the density could be up to one outstation per square kilometre, whilst rural areas the network could be spread over tens of square kilometres.

The I/O can be configured to provide self monitoring of battery low voltage, communication failure, hardware failure or mains failure, monitoring incremental shaft encoders.

The Nano link can be fitted with expansion modules to give a maximum capacity of 20 digital inputs and/or 20 digital outputs.

For system applications, site surveys for installation and radio traffic please contact an engineer.
